Kathmandu : On the auspicious occasion of the 63rd Anniversary \t\t\t\tof Independence Day of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, \t\t\t\tNepal-Pakistan Friendship and Cultural Association organised a \t\t\t\tgrand Reception with Musical Evening on 14th August 2009 at The \t\t\t\tMalla Hotel. <\/p>\n
At the Reception, Ambassador, Leaders of the Political Parties, \t\t\t\tMembers of the Constituent Assembly including Dr. Narayn Khadka \t\t\t\tof Nepali Congress, Prime Ministers Press Advisor Bishnu Rijal, \t\t\t\tAdvisor of Ministry of Communications Pramod Dahal, Executive \t\t\t\tChairman of NTV Kundan Aryal, Govt. Higher Government Officials \t\t\t\tincluding from Ministry of Foreign Affaires, Members of the \t\t\t\tDiplomatic Corps, Military attache of the Chinese Embassy, \t\t\t\tExecutives of FNCCI and Nepal Chamber of Commerce, \t\t\t\tIndustrialists, Bankers, Senior Media Persons, Executives of \t\t\t\tPakistan Study Center, Chairman of China Study Center, Madan \t\t\t\tRegmi, Officials of Everest K2 Society, Office Bearers of \t\t\t\tNepal–Pak Chamber of Commerce, were present.<\/p>\n
Likewise, Former Ambassadors, UN Officials, SAARC Directors, \t\t\t\tManaging Director of Nepal Airlines, PIA Country Manager, \t\t\t\tArtists. Senior Advocates, Professors and Engineers were also, \t\t\t\tpresent.
\nLikewise, Diplomats and Madams of the Embassy of Pakistan also \t\t\t\tattened the programme.
\nAs well as large numbers of people from, various walks of life \t\t\t\talso attended the programme.
\nMusical groups of Hemanta Rana and his Bands with Singer Sine \t\t\t\tGurung and Rajina Ramal performed the musical programmes.<\/p>\n
At the programme, Political leaders, intellectuals and diplomats \t\t\t\thave stressed on expanding the bilateral relations between Nepal \t\t\t\tand Pakistan.<\/p>\n
‘Nepal and Pakistan have cordial relations but the time has come \t\t\t\tto take them to a new height’, they said while addressing a \t\t\t\tfunction organised by Nepal-Pakistan Friendship and Cultural \t\t\t\tAssociation to mark the Independence Day of Islamic Republic of \t\t\t\tPakistan.<\/p>\n
Former Minister and Maoist leader Krishna Bahadur Mahara said \t\t\t\tthat Nepal and Pakistan had common problems that required common \t\t\t\tunderstanding to deal with them.<\/p>\n
Stating that both the countries were struggling to achieve \t\t\t\tstability, Mahara called for initiatives to take up those \t\t\t\tbilateral matters lying pending in order to deepen the relations \t\t\t\tbetween the two countries.
\nCharge de affairs at Pakistan Embassy Masood Khan Raja noted \t\t\t\tthat two countries were famous for their enchanting snow peaks, \t\t\t\tmountaineering tourism and hospitality.<\/p>\n
He informed that the book on Gandhara civilisation had been \t\t\t\ttranslated into Nepali from Pakistan, which offers wise \t\t\t\tinformation about one of the ancient civilisations that \t\t\t\tflourished in Pakistan.<\/p>\n
Chairman of Nepal Council of World Affaires Tike Jung Thapa \t\t\t\thighlighted on Nepal-Pakistan friendly relations.<\/p>\n
Association President Himalaya Shumsher Rana stressed on \t\t\t\texpanding the trade relations between the two nations.<\/p>\n
Association General Secretary Manju Ratan Sakya said that the \t\t\t\tassociation had been active to boost Nepal-Pakistan ties at \t\t\t\tpeople-to- People level.<\/p>\n
A musical show was also presented at the function.
