February 16, Juche 103 (2014) marks the 72nd Birth Anniversary of Comrade KIM JONG IL, Eternal General Secretary of the Workers’ party of Korea and the Great Leader of the Korean People.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

            The Korean people observe this occasion as the nation’s one of the greatest holidays, which the world’s people advocating the cause of independence also view it as great occasion for celebration.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

            To celebrate this happy occasion as the “Festival of Shining Star”  Nepal National Preparatory Committee to Celebrate the Festival of the Shining Star” is formed  under the Chairmanship of Honorable Mr. C. P. Mainali, General Secretary of CPN (M.L.) and former Minister for Supply and Dr. Manju Ratna Sakya, President of Nepal Journalists Association and Senior Vice-President of Nepal-Korea Friendship Association as the committee’s General Secretary with prominent figures from political parties, friendship and people’s organizations dedicated to  promote the friendship between Nepal and Korea as its members.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

            Born on Mt. Paektu, the sacred Mountain of the Korean revolution His Excellency                 KIM JONG IL grew up in the flames of the anti-Japanese war and worked with the great leader President    KIM IL SUNG for many years as his greatest Comrade-in-arms and most faithful assistant in advancing the revolution and construction.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

            According to the announcement released on February 1, 2014 by the Preparatory Committee’s Member Secretary Mr. Phanindra Raj Pant, Nepal National Preparatory Committee shall organize several functions and conduct activities aimed at highlighting the life and exploits made by the Respected  Eternal General Secretary KIM JONG IL characterized by his devoted services to the Korean people and the cause of the global independence and of socialism.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
