– Dr. Manju Ratna Sakya President Nepal Journalists Association <\/span><\/p>\n Nepal and China are very close friendly neighbours. The relations between Nepal and China are as old as history itself. Our relation always remained not only cordial and cooperative but also steady and stable. Our relation is so close and cordial that is described as all weather relation to mutual benefit. <\/span><\/p>\n This age old friendship has given a formal status and importance on 1st<\/sup> August 1955 when diplomatic relations between Nepal and China was established on the basis of the five principles of peaceful coexistence. <\/span><\/p>\n Insistence on the Five Principles of peaceful coexistence is the important foundation for the time-honored and thriving friendship between Nepal and China. Over the past 64 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, our two countries have always maintained equality, mutual trust, mutual respect and sincerity. Following the principle of non-interference in other countries, internal affairs, China has never interfered in the internal affairs of Nepal. <\/span><\/p>\n Relying on each other like tooth and lip, Nepal and China are close neighbors linked by mountains and rivers with a shared border stretching over 1400km.The two people have always trusted and cared for each other. The two countries have always maintained a good momentum of sound and steady development in their relationship, no matter what changed have happened inside or outside the two countries. In particular, recent years have witnessed tremendous progress in our bilateral relationship. We enjoy a high degree of political mutual trust, economic mutual benefit, frequent cultural exchanges, ever-advancing cooperation in all fields and good collaboration in international and regional affairs, in other words a great example hereby countries of different sizes live tighter in peace and on equal footing. <\/span><\/p>\n Friendly visit program between NJA and ACJA : <\/span><\/p>\n Nepal and Nepalese people have the good faith and trust with China and the Chinese people. In this big friendly country Nepal Journalists Association (NJA) and All-China Journalists Association (ACJA) have the exchange visit of journalists delegation since 1980. <\/span><\/p>\n Accordingly, the first Five members NJA delegation under my leadership visited China from 5th<\/sup> March to 19th<\/sup> March 1980. Likewise, under my leadership the NJA delegation visited China from 21st<\/sup> May to 5th<\/sup> June 1982, from 15th<\/sup> March to 29th<\/sup> March 1986, from 17th<\/sup> May to 31st<\/sup> May 1989, from 4th September to 13th<\/sup> September 1992, from 6th<\/sup> July to 15th<\/sup> July 1997 from 14th<\/sup> September to 23rd<\/sup> September 2003 and 16th<\/sup> December to 22nd<\/sup> December 2010. <\/span><\/p>\n Under this programme, at the official invitation of All China Journalists Association (ACJA) the six members Nepalese journalist delegation of Nepal Journalists Association (NJA) led by me visited China for nearly two weeks from 15th<\/sup> June 2016. In this delegation, Mrs. Subha Laxmi Shakya, Mr. Mohan Bir Thapa, Mr. Hari Gopal Pradhan, Mr. Chiran Ratna Shakya and Mrs. Vidhya Thapa were included. During this visit, we visited Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Hongkong also During our stay at Beijing, the Executive Secretary and Member of Board of Leadership of ACJA Honorable Mr. Zhu Shouchen hosted a welcome dinner to us at its central office in Beijing. <\/span><\/p>\n Likewise, at the invitation of NJA, five members Chinese journalists delegation led by Mr. Meng Fan, Director of Xinhua News Agency visited Nepal from 22nd<\/sup> March to 2nd<\/sup> April 1983. <\/span><\/p>\n Mr. Kong Mai, Secretary of the Secretariat of the Chinese Journalists Association visited Nepal leading the Six Members journalists delegation from 26th<\/sup> March to 6th<\/sup> April 1987 at the invitation of NJA. Likewise, leading Five members journalists delegation, Mr. Tang Fei, Member of the Secretariat of Chinese Journalists Association visited Nepal from 11th<\/sup> April to 18th<\/sup> April 1992 at the invitation of NJA. <\/span><\/p>\n The Vice-Chairman of Guangzhou Daily Newspaper Mr. Lai Nanchi visited Nepal from 4th <\/sup>September to 10th <\/sup>September 1998 leading seven members Chinese journalists delegation. Under this programme, the five members Chinese journalists delegation led by Honorable President of All-China Journalists Association Mr. Shao Huaze had visited Nepal at the invitation of NJA from 23rd<\/sup> March to 28th<\/sup> March 2006. <\/span><\/p>\n The recent visit of Chinese journalists delegation at the invitation of NJA visited Nepal from 22nd<\/sup> Nov. to 26th<\/sup> Nov. 2011. The Chinese journalists delegation was led by Mr. Zhao Xiting, Deputy President of Jilin Daily and members are Mr. Li Zhiwei-Chief editor of Guangming Daily, Ms. Yanyuqing-Chief editor of Qiushi Magazine, Mr. Zhu Guoqiu -Director of Mass Work of Shanghai Wenhui Daily and Mr. Wang Hangang-Director of Jinhao Net of Shaanxi Radio. <\/span><\/p>\n About All-China Journalists Association (ACJA) : <\/span><\/u><\/b><\/p>\n All-China Journalists Association (ACJA) is a national non-governmental organization composed of the press institutions at the national level, journalists associations of provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities, journalists associations of special trades, and major institutions engaged in journalism education and research. <\/span><\/p>\n As a non-governmental organization well known in press circles both at home and abroad, ACJA has 217 institutional members including local and professional journalists associations, which embraces a total of more than 1,000,000 people engaged in journalism. <\/span><\/p>\n The supreme decision-making body of ACJA is the Board of Directors with five years in each term. The directors, elected by the institutional members, include heads of media organizations, noted public figures within the profession and outstanding editors, reporters and program hosts. The secretariat appointed by the standing committee of the Board of Directors handles daily affairs. There are four departments and one center in this Association. They are the Domestic Work Department, the International Liaison Department, the Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Department, the General Office and the Journalism Training Center. ACJA carries out the nation-wide journalism awards. There is an award named by Fan Changjiang, a famous Chinese reporter. It is specially set for the reporters. Another award named by Zou Taofen is to give reward to the outstanding editors. All of the awards organized by ACJA are the most important awards in China, which presents the highest respect and regard to the journalists. <\/span><\/p>\n ACJA takes responsibility of safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of journalists. It carries out self-discipline and professional ethics education, and criticizes the behaviors that violate the professional ethics. <\/span><\/p>\n ACJA has so far, in various forms, established exchanges and cooperative relations with press institutions of more than 100 countries including Nepal across the world. It sponsors bilateral and multilateral exchanges with foreign press institutions, sends Chinese press delegations abroad and receives foreign journalists, provides services to foreign correspondents stationed in Beijing such as arranging reportage trips, holding press conferences, news release sessions, international seminars and workshops, and organizing visits and various recreational activities; and participating in activities arranged by international journalists organizations and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. <\/span><\/p>\n Situated at No. 7 Zhushikou East Street, Chongwen District of Beijing, All-China Journalists Association (ACJA) is a national non-governmental organization of China’s press circle. Its predecessor, China’s Young Journalists Society was established in 8th<\/sup> November 1937. <\/span><\/p>\n About Tibet : <\/span><\/p>\n Tibet is an integral part, province and parcel of China. In Nepal, we never allow any activities that aim at disturbing Chinese Suzerainty over Tibet. The soil, water, air and even climate of Nepal will never be allowed to be used for anti-Chinese activities at any cost in our country. We Nepalese regard Chinese not only as our old, most reliable and trusted friend but also one who always stand by Nepal both in wail and weal. <\/span><\/p>\n We have tasted many sumptuously Chinese dishes, and all these dishes we enjoyed which are still on our tongue. There are so many impressions which cannot be explained and expressed here. The only thing we could say is that we learnt a lot and yet we have to learn much more from China. <\/span><\/p>\n We definitely hope that the mutual friendly relationship between Nepal and china will further strengthen in the years to come.
